Dr. Jay Oh, the founder of KICRT (Korea Institute of Couple Relationship Therapy),
introduced Imago couple therapy to Korea and established a working relationship with IRI to provide training to Korean therapists.
SKAIT (South Korean Association of Imago Therapists) is Korea’s first Imago couple therapist group,
with a total of 80 trainees from the first and second ICT (Imago Clinical Training) programs.
The group includes current professors in counseling or in related departmental fields, directors of counseling
centers and professional counselors in Korea. The trainees who complete all the tracks required by
Imago Relationships International (IRI) and their training manual are eligible to become members of SKAIT.
Mike Borash named the group SKAIT because he thought that good Imago therapists are like excellent skaters on ice.
Korean Imago therapists wish to help couples melt theice-cold walls they have built between each other.
SKAIT members plan to conduct internationally recognized level of Imago couple therapy and
provide Imago related seminars to government organizations, counseling centers,
social welfare agencies in Korea.
The current professors of universities and graduate schools will proceed with their teaching and
spread Imago couple therapy to their students majoring in counseling.
